Tone 6, Waqib'
Waqib', the 6, is the number of the centre. Even, and in the middle of the series of thirteen, it speaks of family, of support and of what is concrete.

In short
- The 6 has its own shrine in Momostenango, on a hill held to be the heart of the local world.
- It stays outside the three bands of numbers, and some readings treat it as low.
- Being even, it sits on the side of the stable numbers.
- People born on a 6 day tend to be practical and to rely on what is real.
1. The middle number
Waqib' means six. Like 4, 5 and 10, the 6 falls into none of the three Momostenango bands, and in divination with Kan it is even counted among the low numbers.
Being even, it sits on the side of the balanced numbers. And since it stands in the middle of the series of thirteen, it tends to be read as firm and lasting.
The 6 is the halfway point of a road that already has ground under it.
2. The 6 and the centre
In Momostenango, the shrine of the 6 is the wakibal, the six-place. It stands on Paclom, the hill in the middle of town, held to be the heart of the local world. Whoever is trained for that altar goes on to make offerings there on the 6 days, from 6 Kej to 6 Toj.
The reading of the 6 tends to follow this image of the centre: it would be the middle and also the road to the middle, the course of a life.
Some describe the 6 as a family standing on supports linked to one another: understanding, work, friendship, possessions and actions, good and bad.
With the supports linked, the house does not sway.
3. Born on a 6 day
People born on a 6 day tend to be down to earth and practical, and to act with both feet on what is real.
In practice, this often looks like the person who sorts things out: fixes what broke, organises the house, calls friends over to help with the move. The care is not to shrink life down to what the hand can touch.
Like every tone, the 6 adds to the nawal of the day, and tends to give it stability.
With the 6, you are the solid ground.
