About

Who writes Mayanastro

Mayanastro was born so that anyone can find their day in the sacred calendar of the Maya. We use the traditional Tzolk'in count — the same one the spiritual guides of the Guatemalan highlands keep alive — with the K'iche' names and the reading of books by ajq'ijab' and scholars, listed at the end of the Chart. Every Chart is calculated and written for your date at the moment of purchase, from that material; every day it mentions you can check here on the site. It is not a horoscope: it is your day, read with care.

In short

  • The brand writes it, not a person: Mayanastro, owned by a sole proprietor in Sorocaba, Brazil.
  • The count is the traditional Tzolk'in, the one from the Guatemalan highlands, with the K'iche' names.
  • The reading comes from books by ajq'ijab' and scholars. The authors have no relation to the site.

1. The method

The traditional count

Tzolk'in (Cholq'ij) with the GMT 584283 correlation and the K'iche' names — the same count as the free result, the one from the Guatemalan highlands.

Rules with sources

The Maya Cross follows the count of Carlos Barrios; the calendar of the year matches the one recorded in Momostenango; the spelling is that of the Academia de Lenguas Mayas. Your Chart lists the books used.

All checkable

Every date your Chart mentions — the conception, the destiny, your days of the year — opens here on the site, in seconds.

2. The sources

The texts on the site and in the Chart were written from books by ajq'ijab' — the spiritual guides who keep the count — and by scholars of the Maya calendar. Every book has a summary here on the site, and the Chart lists the ones it used.

3. What Mayanastro is not

It is not a horoscope: there is no daily forecast and no sun sign. The Dreamspell Kin, the count created in 1990, appears as a reference, next to the traditional one, without mixing the two.
